What are the names of X and Y?

Markscheme

A

Examiners report

Many candidates wrongly believed the diagram of X could easily be amylopectin (instead of glycogen) whilst Y has to be amylose, this led to students spending more time on the question. Some candidates confused amylose with the enzyme amylase, but the question clearly stated that two carbohydrates were shown.
